Today, I got my first tattoo. It was a surprise for my fiancé: our names together over a heart. I went home but before I could show him, he said we had to have a 'talk.' Now my ex's name is tattooed on my back. The kicker? Turns out I'm allergic to the ink. FML

Today, I got a tattoo with my boyfriend's name on it. As we're coworkers, I showed it to him thinking he’d love it. He told me he couldn’t continue the relationship anymore since he realized he wants to fix things with his wife. Three hours of pain and 2 years down the drain. FML

Today on my birthday, my wife thought it would be a good idea to get matching tattoos. Our tattoo artist happened to be her ex-boyfriend. I sat and listened to them talk about their relationship and how they should stay in touch. FML

Today, I went to get a tattoo. I decided on getting my four month daughter's name tattooed on my upper arm. I went home to show my wife. She broke down and told me that I'm most likely not the father. It's a toss-up between her co-worker, the guy who does our lawn, several strangers and me. FML

This is why you never tattoo a name on yourself. Try something symbolic, that way if this happens, it's just a tattoo and doesn't have to mean anything anymore

Didn't really feel like counting, but about I'd say about 50 of the 78 comments all say, "You never get someone's name (unless it's a family member)!!! OMG"....I think after the first one, the rest of them are just a little bit unnecessary. Really annoying having to read all of that over and over again.

*shrugs* You guys can think my tattoo is lame if you want... but it is just the starting point to what I want. It was also my first tattoo and it isn't smart to do a huge design all in one go. I mean, what if I had turned out to be allergic like the OP? And at least my tattoo has meaning to me and isn't someones name. I also didn't just 'pick it out' of a flash book. It is simple, but I drew it and the rest of the design that will eventually be inked when I get the money.
