Today, I attended an assembly regarding senior graduation. The assistant principal told us to look to the left and right of us, because those people would be our friends for the rest of our lives. I was the only one in the entire row. FML

Today, I was looking through my high school yearbook. I found a picture of myself and a couple of my friends at our senior prom. The caption gave the names of all my friends, their dates who didn't attend our school, and listed me only as "guest." FML

Today, I recently graduated from high school and I went to a college party. I met these girls and told them I graduated college already, to sound cool. I then heard one of them say, "I went to middle school with you, and I was in your math class." FML

Today, I went to my best friend's wedding. All my friends and their boyfriends were seated at one table, while I, as the only single girl in the group, was put on a table with all the other single people. They were all over forty years older than me. I feel like I have seen my future. FML

Today, it was my high school graduation. Because our school colors were red, black and white, and our principal looked somewhat like Hitler, the senior class prank was to salute him when he finished his speech. I was the only one. FML

Today, was my high school's senior awards ceremony. Over 400 people were crammed in the hot auditorium. I won five awards and each time I was called up the laughter grew louder. Apparently even the back row could see my pit stains. FML

In all honesty, most of those people in the assembly you'll never hear from again like a year or two after graduation anyway.

There's only a select few I keep in contact from high school so no worries OP. The real friendships may be one or two from high school, your college years or social circles in the upcoming few years. All will be fine.

That's something they are required to say high school aren't the best years of your life. If it is you either peaked early or doing something wrong. I don't keep in contact with anyone except for 1 person I knew back then. All the others never really grew up, happens with college friends as well.

I'm glad they didn't say that at my graduation, because I despise about 49% of the people I went to school with and just don't give a damn about 49% of them. Of the 2% left, one of those people is my cousin, so obviously I care about him, but there it is.
