Today, I am currently grounded for three weeks, have no car, cell phone, or television privileges, and am not allowed to spend more than 10 minutes on the computer a day. The reason why: I was seven minutes past my 9'oclock curfew. I'm 18. FML

Today, I was grounded for not agreeing with an article on dating my mom found in a very strict magazine. The article told parents to monitor phone calls, make rumors about their children cheating on people, and not allow their children anywhere but home. FML

Today, I turned 18 and I’m now subject to adult discipline. My dad says I will no longer be grounded or have my phone taken away, but I have three strikes and if I get to three, he’s throwing me out to get my own house. He then gave me my first strike because I was 30 minutes late picking up my nana. FML

Today, I got suspended from school for smoking in the stairs. I'm grounded for a month without my phone, TV or any type of social connection. All of this would seem like a fair enough punishment if I actually smoked, but instead I just smell like my parent's second-hand smoke. FML

If you're not in college yet: apply to one that's at least one state away. If you're in college but home for the summer: next summer, find a summer job on campus. No plans for college? Sounds like a good time to make them!

That sucks man, my parents were difficult through just about all of high school...basically until I turned 18 my senior year, then they eased off a bit. You should seriously consider going to a school where you can live on campus, it'd be a great way to get some independence without pissing anyone off in the process (assuming they'd be happy if you wanted to do that, most parents would unless money is an issue).

Don't worry, my parents were the same way when I was in high school. They'll loosen up a bit when you go to college hopefully. Sucks, believe me I've been there, but... it'll pass.

You should stand up for yourself, like your 18 years old. Tell them its ridickulas and that your not going to stand for it any longer. If they still dont budge, just go out anways, what can they do? Another option, move out. Either way if you dont do somthing soon, your screwed.
