Today, I babysat the most annoying and obnoxious kids for almost eight hours, when the parents assured me that they would only be gone about three or so hours. After constant calling and worrying, they finally showed up at 11:30, completely drunk. The mother paid me with three dollars and a banana. FML

Today, I babysat the neighbors’ evil kids. They dropped them over at my house and I played with them for five hours. After taking the brats back home and putting them to bed, their mother asked me what time I came back to the house. She only paid me for the 20 minutes I was in their house. FML

Today, I babysat the brattiest and most foul-mouthed 8-year-old I've ever met. After I survived three hours of it, his parents finally came home. He claimed I'd invited a boy over and that we did "stuff" on the couch all evening. They believed him. I didn't get paid, to say the least. FML

Today, I went to babysit eight kids under the age of ten, all by myself. After five hours of Hell, the parents finally came back from the ASU game. I got paid $5. FML

Today, I spent my date night babysitting. After waiting three hours later than I was supposed, the mother finally gets home at 11, too late for me to get out and have any fun. Already annoyed, I take the money as she says, "I hope this is enough, I got hungry and spent some of your money." FML

Today, I babysat a kid who was such a bratty little prick that I actually considered walking out on the job. After his mom finally got home 4 hours later, he called her a slut. When he got in trouble for it, he claimed that I taught him the word. Needless to say, I didn't get paid. FML

Today, I was babysitting. Being kind, I went to grab their mail, while their 4 year old ate lunch. He locked me out, wrecked the house, and let me in right when he saw their car two hours later. I didn't get paid. I paid them. FML

Today, I taught a kid piano for a two hour lesson. The mom left to do some errands, and by the time two hours was up, she texted me asking to watch the kid for another "15 minutes" while she returned home. No problem, she had the money too, so I stayed. Four hours later, she showed up, and refused to pay me extra. FML

Today, I'm babysitting three children under the age of seven. They have no discipline, don't listen, scream all the time, won't nap, terrorize my dog, and have peed their pants a collective 5 times today. I am not getting paid for this. Their mother has no plans to come get them any time soon. FML

Today, I babysat for my neighbor's brat kid. The mom gave me $15 for 5 hours. I complained to my mom when I got home because last time I got $15/hour. Turns out my mom had told my neighbor that she thought they'd paid me too much last time. Thanks mom. Thanks. FML

I like what you had to say #42. I feel really bad for the babysitter. I babysat my 3 little neighbors and they're all picky eaters and have terrible attention spans so they're always jumping from one thing to the next. Even after talking to the mom about how much I should be getting paid, she paid me less than $5 an hour. She took weeks to get the money to me and it came out to be $4.77 an hour, for 3 kids. It was rediculous. I cannot even imagine $3 (and a banana) for 8 hours. That really sucks!

I am amazed with all the babysitting stories, where the babysitter expects some money, without actually talking about hourly rate, and then is all offended and stuff, because he/she didn't get paid what they expected. Talk about hourly rate, and stop complaining! If you did in this situation, OP, talk to them in the morning. It is not FML.

You should have taken money out of their wallet and if they ask tell them that while they were in their impaired drunken state they gave you money plus a bonus for doing such a great job

Wow. Once when I babysat the parents were only one hour late and they paid me an extra ten bucks. It was more than worth it though. The baby did nothing but cry and the older one kept waking up the baby.

I created an account just to comment on this. YOU NEED TO GET YOUR DAMN MONEY. I bet that was some stupid stunt they pulled. I mean..REALLY? Who gets trashed and comes home at 11:30?... Definatly tell them they screwed up.
