Today, I went on a date, the first one I've been on since my last boyfriend broke up with me 6 months ago. We were at a restaurant, and at the end of meal he insisted on paying the bill. He wanted to leave a 15% tip but couldn't work out in his head how much to leave. The bill was for £100. FML

Today, I went on a date that went well, until the bill came and she quickly shoved it in my direction, then went to the loo. Rude, but I thought nothing of it… until our waiter took pity and told me I’m the fourth guy she’s had this week who'd been made to pay for her. I paid half, then went home. FML

Today, I went on a dinner date with the guy I like. He ate all his food then started eating off my plate, going on to eat over half of my food. When the bill came, he made me pay for it. FML

Today, my date left the restaurant because I didn’t agree with his opinions about the mentally disabled or mixed race couples, etc. Basically, a real scumbag. He also left me the bill, and it turned out he had all the most expensive menu items, including a £120 bottle of wine. It cost over £300 total. FML

Today, my boyfriend wanted to take me to a movie after days of not seeing me. This long-awaited date involved me paying for food and my movie ticket when he ran out of cash again. He then dumped me as we left the theater walking to his car. Yes, I financed my own breakup date. FML

Today, after dating a guy for 2 months, things seemed to be going well. I offered to buy dinner and trusted he would keep in mind that I'm a college student on a budget. He picked the restaurant, ran up the bill over $100, made me pay, and dumped me right after. FML

Today, my boyfriend and I had a lovely dinner date. Our waitress was really sweet, so we talked about leaving her a big tip. When we got home, we discovered we both thought the other person had left it. FML

Today, I went to a restaurant with my boyfriend. After dessert, he went to the bathroom so I quickly called the waiter over and paid the bill, thinking it was a nice gesture. When he returned, he broke up with me for "emasculating" him. FML

I just realized I read this FML totally wrong :-/ So my previous comment about climbing out a window.. Forget that. Anyway. You're seriously complaining about something stupid. I would be really appreciative of someone that spent that much on a dinner with me. Sure, it's embarrassing, but I doubt many people are gonna notice and say, "Oh, look! That idiot can't figure out 15% tip!". I think you just made a fool of yourself by putting this on here. He didn't have to spend that money nor did he even have to tip at all, even if it'd be rude if he didn't. Be thankful. Geez.

I don't know, not knowing that 15% of 100 is 15 is pretty dumb. I could see not being able to figure out 15% of 83.57. Whatever. But percent MEANS "out of a hundred." They teach you that in elementary school, sometime between 2nd and 4th grade if I remember correctly. If you can't figure out a percentage of 100...no. Just no.
