Please don't do this

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2010 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I took my girlfriend of five and a half years to family dinner at a restaurant. After we all had finished dessert, I got down on one knee, pulled out my great grandmother's ring and proposed. The entire restaurant was dead silent. She looked around and then slowly walked out. FML

Wow I'm so sorry. Have you gotten an explanation? You'd think after 5 1/2 years she'd shout YES.

Whoaaaaa thats soooo horrible im sorry :( Just remember everything happens for a reason and if her walking out was a 'no' then it was probably for the best in the long run

Likely he clicked on the wrong gender. and yea... I would avoid asking out in public.

Obviously he clicked on the wrong gender, because there's definitely no such thing as homosexual people anywhere out in the world... Try to keep up with the times. Lol

how the hell did the op deserve this???

The OP deserves it for proposing at a McDonald's! We don't know where he proposed or if he was suspected of cheating or if he beat her or if maybe- just maybe - she wasn't in love with him and did the best thing for him even though he doesn't see it. Personally, I'd rather marry someone who loves me back.

Oh no she won't marry me, boo hoo my life sucks. More important things in life than marriage.

Yeah, 'cause everyone feels the same way you do...

I agree with you, Back_In_Action, except for the last sentence, which was a little uncalled for. Also, there's nothing wrong with being a virgin.

agreed... nothing wrong with being a virgin... but you shouldn't be bitter about it.

My apologies, let's_be_ian, I should have included that. You're absolutely right.
