Mixed signals

Today, I went on a date with a girl I like. Afterwards, I drove her home, and we just sat there awkwardly. I thought she wanted to kiss me but was nervous, so I jokingly said, "What're you waiting for? Christmas?" I guess she took that as a "Get the hell out", because she broke into tears and left. FML

Wrap yourself in Christmas paper and sit outside her porch. It's a flawless plan. Bonus points if you are wearing a Santa Claus suit.

She probably thought you meant "what are you waiting for to get out of my car" not "what are you waiting for to kiss me"

To her credit I think most people would have missed it and would have thought it was a sign to go too

Are you a guy? If so why didnt you make the first move. Im all for the girl being empowered and moving in first, but if you think she wants it and is too afraid, why not make a move yourself instead of saying something that could be interpreted multiple ways and ruining the night like an asshole.

Please tell her what you meant - I don't think YDI for a simple misunderstanding but she'll feel a lot better if you tell her about it!

Hmm maybe you should have went in for the kiss then? I don't understand why it's so difficult for men to make the first move -.-

That makes you an asshole though, OP. apologize to her!

the guy always goes for the kiss. nice mood kill bruh

#111 I understand that he could have handled the situation better, but that's still unfair, they both have lips, the guy shouldn't be the one that has to go in for the kiss

Your humour is awkward, I would of done the same thing as the girl.
