Poor guy :( maybe he wasn't ready. Premarital sex can be pretty devastating to some people if they weren't fully prepared for it. I'm sorry it was a bad experience, OP.

Well, do you like him? I suggest talking to him about it and if need be, go with him to spiritual counseling. I'd imagine a young man in that kind of situation, with all the internal pressures of religion and whatnot, might need a shoulder to lean on. Doesn't mean it wasn't awkward at the time, though. But I think it's possibly an opening for furthering your theoretical relationship.
