Today, I went to the new gym I recently signed up for and started exercising in the men-filled weights room, despite being intimidated by them and the strange looks they were giving me. Workout over, I left the room and saw in front of me a door marked, "Women's weights room." Oh. FML

Yeah, but the men have no escape from those leering rapist women and cougars at the gym, there's no men only spinning lounge, or dude's elliptical center. Honest last gym I was a member of, I was pissed off that the women got a separate new nice room while last I checked we all paid the same for a membership. No special treatment, what if I'm a straight guy getting ogled by gay men in the normal section of the gym? shit is sexist as hell

I think the real reason women get separate rooms is that guys put huge weights on and then don't move them off when they are done- and women end up with their whole workout being the move of weights. potentially hurting themselves. the not getting oogled is nice I guess too.

I always thought it was due to some women being uncomfortable with their bodies and not wanting to work out with the men or super fit women.
