Today, I began training my replacement at work. She's a senior citizen. She got excited when I taught her how to highlight text on the screen and double-click the mouse because she "never knew how to do those fancy tricks." The job is entirely computer-based. I have to train her for 6 weeks. FML

Whoever hired her must be her grandchildren or something, seriously, if she's training for a job that's 100% computer-based, and doesn't even know these things.. I bet she doesn't know what alt-f4 does either and all those fancy tri-- err shortcuts ;p Just tell your boss she's not competant enough for the job and find someone else

That's not the point. If she applied for a computer-based job, you know, a job that primarily uses COMPUTERS, she should know how to do simple things like highlight text and double click already. The fact that she doesn't and managed to get the job seems rather fishy to me. There must have been some degree of under-the-table agreement when she was hired.
