Don't mess with gamers

Today, after receiving the third call this week from teachers about my son falling asleep in class, I decided that it would be a good idea to hide his Xbox controllers. He decided it would be a good idea to hide my diabetes medication. FML

**** that, smash that xbox to the side of his head:/

That's bad parenting, plain and simple. Any kid raised right would never dream of pulling a stunt like this, especially when it puts his parents' health at risk. You brought this on yourself. Now it's up to you to set him straight before the nasty behaviour gets worse.

why not just take the whole xbox away? my friends mom did that for a week it sure as hell taught him a lesson and for everybody out there about to hate on this comment my boyfriend is an xbox addict so I GET IT OKAY?! I like xbox too but this little ass needs to be taught a lesson.

sounds like someone needs a stricter punishment. you are the parent... you have to win the battle or he wont ever respect you

well i see lots of parents these days lettin kids get away with stuff. jus grow some stuff an make the demands an follow through. or the rest of the years will get worst. although if anyone hid my controllers i'd punch them in the face. lol. jus not my ma. she'd like throw me in hell. do what u gotta do. its your rules

How self-entitled are you? "No one ever takes anything from me." Chances are you didn't buy most of "your" things, so if your parents find they're doing you harm in any way, they have every right to take it from you. I can understand sibling rivalry, but the OP was a father-son thing. Would you really, honestly, seriously ever think about retaliation because your father took away something that was harmful to you, which he probably bought in the first place? -IMP ;) :)

I mean, I would've done what he did. But obviously I would give it back at one point.

No offence, YDI. I would've done the same thing.... No one ever takes anything from me. Brother touched my exclusive MK9 cards, kicked him as hard as I can..

Obviously you need some help if you believe a REPLACEABLE thing is more important than a someone's life.

So at first your son thinks that his Xbox is somewhat more important than your health... I agree with #383 - it your house - your rules. You shouldn't agree with your kid thinking that he is allowed to do whatever he wants to do.
