Today, my boyfriend broke up with me, claiming moving in was a bad idea and he is the type who needs his privacy. It was his idea to move in, he had to convince me. Now we are stuck, under lease together for the next 6 months. FML

Today, my boyfriend told me he’d have a surprise for me when I got home. The surprise was he’d moved out, dumped me, and cut me off from his share of the bills, because he’s not interested in marriage and babies. I can’t afford the rent by myself so I’m going to have to move back to my mother's. FML

Today, I went to my boyfriend's apartment to break up with him since he's always busy, and I haven't seen or spoke to him in almost 2 months. I arrived to find out from his landlord that he'd moved out 3 weeks ago, leaving a note saying that we were over. FML

Today, I'm 37 years-old and recently out of a job. As my boyfriend refuses to pay more than half the rent as long as I live here, I have no choice but to move back in with my mom, 8 hours away. My boyfriend is quite happy to pay the entire rent as soon as I'm gone. FML

You aren't considering staying? To help me pay the rent? Oh- but he was adamant.... you should definately stay then. In fact I think you should pay the entire rent just to make this breakup easier on him. Never move in with someone you have been dating for less than a year guys! Especially if your name is on th elease and you could have financial repercussions if you break up.

Unless you are locked into a lease, move out whenever you damn well please. If you are, talk to your landlord about what, if anything, you can do to be removed from the lease. The alternative is to make life so miserable for him that he won't want you there anymore and will either move out himself or work with you to let you out of the lease.
