He's probably just trying to get rid of you.

If he isn’t there for you now with such a small issue what will happen when things are worse?

This is a sign that he's just not that into you anymore. Why are you still calling him your "boyfriend" and "my man?" When my husband and I were dating and lived several hours from one another, and I fell on some hard times he helped me pay my rent more than once, and we weren't even living together. Generally I paid my bills and he paid his, but when I needed his help financially he was there for me.

Why are you still calling him “your man”? He should be your ex if he can’t even support you during these times. Sounds like he no longer wants you there.

Then don't pay half and wait for the two of you to get evicted THEN move back home i.e., call his bluff.
On the other hand, it's obvious that he's only using you for the money, not for a real, committed relationship. :-(
