Today, my mom and I got into a fight about a topic we agreed on. Seems like we're destined to never get along. FML
Today, my mom blew her top when I casually mentioned that it's pretty well known that the story of Jesus is a retelling of older Persian and Egyptian stories. She then went on to yell at me that I wasted my money on college and "book learning". FML
Today, I got into a heated argument with my mom. Apparently, my seeking medicinal treatments for my cancer is blasphemous. According to her, I should just pray my cancer away. FML
Today, I got into a heated argument with my mom, because apparently I'm an idiot for not sharing her belief that chickens are mammals. She has a university degree in this stuff. FML
Today, my mother straight up admitted that she would murder me if God told her to. FML
Today, my mom bitched me out and threatened to send me to a Bible camp, after catching me admiring a photo of a bikini model, which is apparently "immoral behavior." This is the same woman who cheated on my dad twice, justifying it by claiming the Devil tempted her. FML
Today, my mom yelled at me for fighting with my younger brother. Not because she wanted us to stop, but because my brother couldn't find a good comeback to my argument. FML
Today, my mother refuses to acknowledge that I’m married because instead of a church, we got married outdoors in a lovely pagan ceremony (with a real marriage licence from the city council, obviously) and she keeps trying to introduce me to nice, single men from church. FML
Today, I kindly asked my irate mother to respect my boundaries and to find other outlets for her frustration. Instead of responding AT ALL to what I had asked, she yelled at me for an hour about a completely unrelated political documentary she'd seen on YouTube, and then didn't apologize for her outburst. Typical. FML

Also, to specify I know not all of you are crazy like the OP's mother. Just... sometimes I think a lot of people are alive only because it's simply illegal to kill them. >_o

My father is kind of like this. He believes everything in the bible is accurate information and everything I say otherwise is bs. There are many similar stories like the ones in the bible. Stories that other religions have come up with. It seems like every religion is basically teaching along the same lines minus some little details here and there. It's hard to know what is actually true. But going off the bible 100% and disregarding any other information is ignorant.

Ah, my parents are the same, so I can feel your pain. The best thing you can do, is simply avoid (theo)logical discussions. She probably will not give up her ideas, you probably will not give up yours, so it's a pointless fight. Just avoid it. (I'm wondering how long it will take before this FML will be deactivated))
