Today, the last person I invited to my birthday party called and said they couldn't come because another party "came up" and they "hope I understand". It's on December 31st. This happens every year without fail. FML

This happens occasionally to me because my birthday is on Valentines day, and it turns out people would rather have some romantic ******* than celebrate my birthday! But FYL

dude you're a freaking moron if your reading comprehension is so low that you cannot understand that by a combination birthday/new year's party #17 MEANT that it would be held on the 31st. So... epic fail for not being smarter than the average 4 year old or so and not comprehending that some *choice* is implied by the word "or" do not insult people that you are less intelligent than. I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND UR PAIN! My bday is New Year's Eve. Everyone ALWAYS has better plans. What great friends...and the only people who say that New Year's Eve parties say that it would be amazing is because they usually have summer birthdays and everyone has no better plans. Eff the people who screw you over or leave you behind. I just hate my birthday. =[

And I know someone who has the same birthday and throws a huge bash every year as a combo bday/NYE party. People ALWAYS go and most look forward to it.

I agree with the people who say you should just find a different time to schedule it. Wait a week or two into the new year when everybody is stating to get bored because the holiday rush is over and they will be happy to come to your party
