To be perfectly honest, the Christmas tree is actually adopted from Germanic pagan traditions and there is no proof that Jesus was born on December 25th. She has a valid point.

The catholic church actually moved Jesus' birthday from sometime in August to December twenty fifth to recrute Pagens. The reason they chose this date is because the Pagens celebrate the winter solstice which is December twenty first.
