That is an asshole thing to say. This would be reason enough to have a long talk about why he wants you to be half-asleep. I used to get really tense and nervous about sex before I had it. Tried pot before having sex and it calmed me the **** down enough to actually enjoy the experience. It took some time for me to feel comfortable with a partner. It could be just that he sucks at communication and wants you to relax. Or he is a creepy asshole and you might want to consider getting a Pool Boy.
