Today, my cousin came to visit from America. While out shopping, she said loudly that she was having trouble finding clothes to fit around her huge fanny, causing a lot of people to stare in our direction. I had to explain to her that "fanny" in the UK means "vagina." FML

We Americans can be rather foolish sometimes (yes, I am an American).

Here in France, Fanny is a quite common first name..

I wasn't aware that Americans still used the word "fanny," and I'm American.

I've never heard anyone say fanny besides fanny packs.

Apparently they call those bum bags fanny packs over in America.
