Today, I went to the hospital to visit my aunt and her newborn baby. The receptionist gave me the room number, and I went and my aunt was in the bathroom so I cuddle the baby, only to find that the woman who came out of the bathroom was a complete stranger. I was holding her baby. FML

thats no too bad, apologise and explain.

That is very true, regardless if the baby belonged to your aunt or not, you cannot just pick up and hold a newborn baby without even asking for permission. Also I can't remember another serious comment by perdix besides this one.

I think OP would be dead if he/she did that :')

Geez, you can't even take a pee without some stranger mauling your baby and some jackass on FML blaming YOU for it. oh well, get used to it, welcome to motherhood.

#37 vtf Imagine holding a baby while ******** and changing on a toilet. The woman just had a birth, you bleed a lot on first courses of few days or weeks. And painful too. You need 2 hands to clean yourself up, and possible shower. . You cannot take a baby in a bathroom with you, unless you're cleaning up a baby. the hospital is secured with an alarmed bracelet if a baby is attempt to be taken. op should of pay attention to front door name sign. However a common names especially last names is confusing.

you'd take your baby into the bathroom while you're on the toilet? That's terribly unhygienic. No new mother in a hospital takes her baby with her while she goes to the toilet. In fact no mother would even do that at home, and at hospitals, there's plenty of hospital staff around if there is some sort of emergency. That's probably the safest place in the world to leave your baby unattended for 2 minutes!

Uh, our hospital has some rooms that also have a bathroom in them. So the baby would have been in the room, not the bathroom.

I'm sure the baby was fine in his bassinet for two minutes. It's a little hard to hold a baby and go to the bathroom at the same time.

mamadi, ya but thats why they have the nursing attendents there to help you

nursing attendants to help you? hahaha. you must live in a socialized medicine country.

Its funny cause I almost did that I think it was either after my sister had her baby or a friend.. Hopefully you were able to explain that there was a mix up at the front desk haha.

Well idk but I don't think I would pick up (even if its your aunts) baby without permission. BUT I SO WANNA KNOW WHAT SHE DID!!!!

guess she hasn't taught her baby about strangers.... shame

Wow that sucks bad. Next time make sure you knock first and call out your aunts name so you know your in the rite room. I still think this is eery due to the fact that the room number is 316. Call me weird or what not but have you seen the movie Room Number 316? Its weird, and scary as all hell. Not a movie id see again. Anywho next time double check with a nurse to make sure your in the right room. They can get you for stuff like that if your not cautious enough. They have these little bracelets on the babys nowadays in order to keep them safe from strangers trying to come in
