Today, I was mugged on my way to the bus stop. With no money or mobile I started to panic about the exam I had and ran the 3.5 miles to get to there. When I staggered up to the building only 20mins after the exam started, the university staff wouldn't let me sit it as I couldn't prove my identity. FML

Today, after studying all night for an exam, I ran out to catch the bus. On my way to the bus, my hair got caught in a branch for some minutes. Thinking I'd missed the bus but thankfully didn't, I went on. A few minutes later I remembered that my exam had been postponed for 3 hours today. FML

Today, I went to college, where I'm studying for my dream job. Despite getting up at 5am to catch the earliest bus into town, I arrived ten minutes late. My professor knows my circumstances, but is still threatening to kick me off the course if I don't "arrive on time like everyone else." FML

Today, I accidentally set off an alarm at the school I work for. No one was there, I didn't have the code or password the company needed, my boss wouldn't answer his phone, 3 policemen interrogated me and asked for ID but realized I left home without my wallet. There was nothing I could do. I cried. FML

One, gun control laws are stricter in the UK. People can't just have them. Two, the bullshit about self-defense will get you killed. Unless there is an immediate danger of them trying to hurt you, you DON'T fight back. Fighting back can cause the mugger to get angry and use a weapon if they have one and you never know if they have a concealed one. Glad you're unhurt at least, OP.

Once the administration sees the police report that was filed before the test, they'll pretty much HAVE to let you make it up. You DID report it BEFORE going to the test right? Because doing otherwise would have been completely ignorant.
