Good thing you don't teach in the US where all the "darker" names are like Shaquanda, lareisha. You'd probably have a heart attack.

Are those their real names or their English names? Most people who are in English classes in Asian countries have names they chose to go by during those classes, and sometimes the teachers aren't sure of their real names. Regardless, it's not your problem even if it those are their real names. How is this an FML? How does this freakin' affect you?

my girlfriend's classmates in an international arts school were called sham and poo from vietnam. and they didn't realize why it was funny when they were introduced one after the other.
