It's because saying you hate the new batman movie is the equivalent of saying you hate justin bieber used to be. It's that thing that everyone around you seems to love to it makes you edgy and smarter than everyone else around you to say you hate it. So that eventually when everyone comes around to see your side of the argument you can sit back and say "I hated it before it was cool". That's what I see every time someone makes a totally baseless attack on something legitimately (if not brilliant) at least above average. Not an attack because you actually hate it, but because you are fishing for something to be the first to do... and the only way to accomplish that seems to be just picking random stuff to hate. Be aware that if you call something seriously bad, you are by extension saying eveyone who likes it has bad taste. If you present no argument as to why... well you're just saying that your word means more than that of [insert box office statistics here]. You are just insulting as many people as you can to get a reaction... well there's your reaction. You know the kind of person I'm painting a picture of here.
