Today, I learned that "Je suis excité" does not mean "I'm excited" in French. It means "I'm sexually excited"... more or less. I've been doing a lot of exciting things and using it a lot the past two weeks. With my French friends, people I meet, and especially with my host family. FML

I'm French and it's so funny! The thing is whatever it's suppose to mean everyone would think about sex. At least in France. I'm sure they all understood what you meant, but it's still so funny to hear. There's a big chance they made fun of you... or they thought you were easily sexually exited :) Like when I learned what really meant "give it to me"... @#102: the French word is "préliminaires" (always in plural btw)

Uhmm.. no it means I am excited. Je suis excité is passé composé. Now, if you added sexuellement to the end of it, then yes, it would mean I am sexual excited.
