Today, I gathered the courage to ask my crush on a date. As I called her, she quickly answered and said "Can't talk right now, I'm in a movie theater." and then hung up. I'd called her home phone. FML

You CAN forward your home number to your cell number while you're out. Maybe she was telling the truth. Give her one more chance, if she brushes you off again, then forget it. She's just not into you. Move on.

Well, at least she was trying not to be blunt and hurt your feelings. You got rejected. Deal with it.

Actually, I would think this would hurt feelings more.
"I don't even want to talk to you, sorry!" is what this basically said.

I personally disagree, but I guess it varies from person to person. I would rather someone make it obvious they are uninterested without being harsh and just saying, "I don't like you. Stop talking to me."
The happy medium would've been honest but not mean. Like, "Look, I don't think I feel about you the way you feel about me. I'm sorry. We can still be friends."

If you lie to people, you should do it at least in a clever way.

Agreed #37.
Double YDI for being named Sophistication and calling her your "crush".

I was the first comment and I hadn't really thought of call forwarding.
You're probably right (although not necessarily).
I just didn't realize it before my comments.

Yea, agreed, it could be call forwarding or even a case of mixed-up numbers (I've mixed my friends' house and cell numbers before).

Rejection sucks, but there are much worse things. At least you aren't stuck taking out an idiot who thinks they can pass off being in a movie theater while on their home phone. Or she thinks you or dumb enough to fall for that and is a bitch.

That's a sign, telling you that you don't have to go after this idiot. I'm sure you'll find someone else.
