Today, I corrected someone who spelled "learned" as "learnt" on my favorite forum. Nothing could've prepared me for the torrent of abuse that followed from the non-American members. Now I'm banned for "trolling," and all my 7,000+ posts since 2006 are gone forever. FML

You need a life if you're sad about forum postings getting deleted

Serves you right for being a pedantic ****.

this is especially funny because "learnt" is another way to spell "learned". i hope you've learnt your lesson.

338- At the risk of being attacked... I've often heard that some Americans have a tendency to diregard certain countries and as a result are ignorant about what's what. What you just said pushes me towards believing that claim. Anyway, back to the matter at hand, not everyone who uses forums use English as a first language so if you can understand what they mean get on with your life. I'm South African and I speak Zulu 1st language and I'm sure less than 1% of the world's population has ever heard that word so I'm forced to communicate in a language I only LEARNT to speak fluently at the age of 18. It's really irritating to have people constantly correcting you when you are commenting or posting on social sites. When I'm writting reports I'll drill my brain for "proper" English but not when I'm relaxing and having a good laugh on FML.

Kind of ironic considering that American culture has bastardised the English language.

I am speechless..you did deserve that for being a dumb ass.
