Today, I corrected someone who spelled "learned" as "learnt" on my favorite forum. Nothing could've prepared me for the torrent of abuse that followed from the non-American members. Now I'm banned for "trolling," and all my 7,000+ posts since 2006 are gone forever. FML

rofl, Americans always thinking they're right. And yes, that's definitely the correct use of "they're".

It is spelt learnt dumbass you deserved it

Ahem, _dumbass_, both are right. Just like spelt and spelled. How would you feel about a ban and removing comments?

Good now you can go outside and do something

I'm American and I still spell it as 'learnt'. There is no right or wrong just like 'color' and 'colour' or 'spelled' and 'spelt' I still use learnt, spelt, and color. But really, it's not wrong or right.

Sounds like IFunny... People are always getting worked up over nothing lol

Banishment was extreme, but correcting someone's grammar is just rude (although you probably weren't trying to be). So I'm going to have to say both YDI and FML.

And thus shall the grammar nazis burn. Because, you know, nazis.
