Today, I corrected someone who spelled "learned" as "learnt" on my favorite forum. Nothing could've prepared me for the torrent of abuse that followed from the non-American members. Now I'm banned for "trolling," and all my 7,000+ posts since 2006 are gone forever. FML

YDI for thinking American English is the ONLY English. You give grammar Nazis a bad reputation.

To all of you, who are blind... OP is a she, not a he, get your eyes corrected, you damn fools... -.- Sorry to hear that OP some just don't like getting corrected over fhe innernetz, more importantly they try to look smart, and will rage and hate when one comes along and corrects them.

You so deserve it, OP. If you are going to correct someone, at least make sure you are right. I wished I could click YDI more than once.

How ignorant of you! Do you not realise that there are other types of spellings of words other than what you think are correct! I find what you did very disrespectful.

Nobody likes a grammar nazi.

I'm sorry you got banned and that your posts are gone, but if you're going to be on an international forum--and I'm guessing it was--you should learn that people in other countries spell certain words differently, not to mention have slightly different slang.

I sure hope you weren't implying that non-americans are the ones using slang. BTW, OP, you spelt "favourite" wrong too.

404, you're just as bad as the OP. Americans aren't spelling things wrong when they use American spelling any more than British people are spelling things wrong when they use British spelling.

Of course Americans are spelling things wrong, seeing as they are different from the origin of the word which they are attempting to use. Americanisms annoy me, they just have to be different.

Since when was learned the American spelling?
