I remember approving this one in the hopes that everyone would say the same thing I'm thinking. Get you head out of your arse and take notice. If your 7 seven year old thinks it's a problem, then it's a problem.
i think you should take your kid's word, man
69 has a point. My dad is the same way- he drinks almost every day but never gets drunk or abusive or anything. In elementary school, they teach you that any amount of alcohol is flat-out bad, probably because it's difficult to define "in moderation" to kids (hence teenage binge drinking). There is nothing to suggest that the OP is an alcoholic.
Dude if the first thing he does when he gets home, even before seeing his kid, is head to the fridge for a beer, he has a problem.
Really. Listen to your daughter please? Children shouldn't have the burden of taking care of their parents on their backs at 7 years old. What I would have done if I were her? I would have drained all the alcohol you had into the sinks. All the money you spent on that shit? Down the drain. But seriously, she's one tough/smart/adorable/caring kid.
#12, I know alcoholism is a ~disease~ and all, but if your heart doesn't break enough at your own child leaving a note like that so that you STILL go to have a drink seconds later - yes, YDI.

Wow, kids are getting smarter.
You should feel lucky to have a smart daughter who really cares about you.
