Phrasing indicates that you're not helping him pay for college. But you can buy him a "nice" car. Yeeeah. How much of that gift was about you, and how much was about your son's future? Kid's got the right idea, and you're dead wrong. F your life, indeed.
As ungrateful as he might seem, he's got a valid point.
I don't think thats ungrateful, I think it means he has his priorities straight! There's nothing wrong with sacrificing the desire to have a car for less student loans in the future. He probably could've been less rude about it, but his mom could've also asked him what he would like before spending x amount of money on something.
Your son is smarter than you! Miraculously, you raised him to be more responsible and forward thinking.
Well, he does have a point there.
It's the thought that counts...
I'm not really sure what to say about this one. I guess its awesome that he would rather have a college education than a car, but seems kind of strange that he wouldnt be a little excited about getting a new car.
You've got a good kid. Be proud he told u that
Things that will never happen in America. Just saying.
Kid has his priorities straight. You should be proud of him. Together you can figure out how to return/sell the car and put the cash into his college fund
