Today, I bought my son a nice car for his 18th birthday. When I gave it to him, he just got mad and told me that if I really wanted to spend that much money on him, I should've used it to help him pay for college. FML

At least he didn't bitch about it being the wrong car he wanted?

Well at least we know your son has his priorities straight.

I can see both sides frankly. He does have a point, but should be a little more grateful for what he receives

Something you should know about Israel is, not only are ALL adults mandatorily drafted into the military the instant they turn eighteen (regardless of gender), they DO attend university upon completing their secondary school education. I can understand OP deserving it if they had asked their son prior to purchasing the car, but this sounded like an attempt to surprise the son on his birthday. Therefore, the son IS very ungrateful. If he wanted to go to university, then he needs to man up and get a part-time job to save for university. What a shame to my people that he responded like this. >:(

um kinda, yeah. like shit he doesn't need an expensive car he needs cash to get through college. a car isn't going to do jack shit and he will probably have to sell it to get through anyway.
