Today, as an introduction to the history of China, I asked my APA World History class to write a 500 word essay on a historical Chinese person. Out of a class of 18, five of them were about Mulan. FML

There is at least a decent chance that Mulan actually existed. If the essays were true to the actual Chinese legend, I wouldn't consider this a fail. If they were based off the Disney movie, your students are idiots.

mulan is an actual historical person from Chinese legends learn a thing or two you so called "teacher"
