Today, after months of trying, my wife of seven years told me she is finally pregnant. I'm going to be an uncle. FML

If you play your cards right, instead of a birth you could have two funerals.

Most of the things I read on here dont really suck to bad. Buddy, Your Life Sucks. That is way to rough to handle. It makes me sick just thinking about it.

I don't get how you already know... Was he an unofficial donor? Did you know you were infertile (then, why the months of trying?)... All options I can come up with suck though... Good luck

he might not be infertile, sometime people just have to try for months, sometimes even years. he might have a low sperm count....

It takes a couple with normal fertility on average eight months of trying to conceive. But I think what #17 means is that OP can't know that it's NOT his child if he has normal fertility and has been having sex with his wife.

exactly. So, my question still stands...

i want to know why it seems to be so hard for a married couple who actually want kids conceive but its so easy for two teenagers having a quickie

'tis one of the great mysteries of the universe

#69, it's because the ideal age for pregnancy is actually during or right after puberty. They are young and fit and healthy and usually everything in their body is working perfectly. Think about it...back in the day parents had children at a much younger age...like in their teens. Physically, they're at the perfect age to have a child but mentally and responsibility wise, not so much. How old are you? This is like the first thing you learn in health class lol. OP, this totally sucks. I'm sorry this happened to you =(

"i want to know why it seems to be so hard for a married couple who actually want kids conceive but its so easy for two teenagers having a quickie" Because they're not having "a" quickie...they're having a few quickies a day.

actually, phsyically they're not at the perfect age for having babies. females under the age of 19 or so, actually have a way higher chance of miscarrying plus they're bodies may not be fully mature enough to handle the baby. I.E. breasts... which don't stop growing until you're in your early twenties.. or your hips, which may not be able to support giving birth. So physically, early twenties is the best time for having babies. :)

"Man that is indeed f***ed up. Get it on with your wife's mom, that'll show her what's up." ^ this

Tell your wife you'll be fulfilling the role of "the alcoholic uncle" before getting trashed and beating the shit out of her in a drunken rage. If you don't want to get drunk, then just be "the crazy uncle."

Do yourself a favor, don't hate the kid in the future, hate your brother. He's the asshole.

I second this. I don't really know what to say, more then that this really sucks... You have my sympathy.

I agree, people in these kinds of situations usually forget that it was not the child's fault.

Pffft months of trying doesn't mean your infertile, we tried for 1 1/2years for my first child I'm now pregnant with my 3rd. Sorry about your marriage, but it could have been worse you could have a baby together and she hasn't told you it's not yours.

Why do people always say it could have been worse as a way of cheering people up? I mean hey... it could have been worse.... he could have spontaneously combusted right then and there.... so I guess be a little thankful.
