Today, I found out that my parents used all of the college money I have been saving up for 8 years to buy a beach house. The reason they waited until now to tell me? A tree fell on it, and they need more money for repairs. FML

Why did your parents have access to it in the first place if it's money YOU were saving. My parents can't go into my accounts.

I do believe that is illegal and that you should take that up with the law. Parents or not.

they're right, if your account was originally styled as a minor savings account, it counts as fiduciary and if the money in the account isn't spent on spent entirely and directly on something for you, then they broke the terms of the account and are completely liable. Technically, they could've bought you the house, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

******* awful! How do your parents sleep at night? I look at my little boy and I could never imagine stealing from him, especially money that is meant for his college education. Disown those bastards!
