Today, I went on my first date with a girl I have been infatuated with for months. At the restaurant, the waiter came while she was in the bathroom. I ordered steaks for both of us. Turns out, she is vegetarian, and doesn't like it when men are "overly aggressive." She called me a cow murderer. FML

Today, I went on a date with a great vegan guy in my class. We went to a vegi-restaurant, I dutifully ate all the meatless dishes, but he seemed pissed about something, and other diners kept giving me angry looks. After we left, I realised I'd worn my leather jacket to the date. FML

Today, a coworker invited me out for a date, totally out of the blue. I had no idea she liked me, but I did my best to impress. She ordered the most expensive steak on the menu, two bottles of wine, and eventually picked up and went home with our waiter. I got the bill. FML

Today, I spent hours cooking dinner for my date. When they arrived, they told me that I'd probably not paid much attention to their dating profile, as it clearly mentioned that they were vegan, and thus couldn't eat any of the food I'd prepared. FML

This has nothing to do with her being a vegetarian. I'm not a vegetarian, but I hate steak. The point is that you probably thought you were being gallant and charming. However, it is very rude to order when your guest isn't present and to top it off, you are ridiculously pompous and condescending for ordering for her. Get your head out of your ass and maybe you'll have better luck with the next girl you go out with. In the meantime, you deserve all the random vegetarian insults she can throw at you.

While calling you a "cow murderer" is a little over the top, YDI for ordering for her. I LOVE steak, but I would have been pissed at you for ordering for me (especially on a first date, when you don't know me that well!), and I think most people would agree. Maybe I'm not in the mood for steak that day. Maybe I already had beef at lunch and want a change. Maybe I'm on a diet and want to get fish. Hell, even if I was going to order the steak, you still shouldn't order for me. Despite the fact that my foodie friends tell me I'm ruining the steak, I'm very picky about not having my beef too rare, so I normally order medium or medium-well, depending on what the waiter says about how "medium" comes out, and what mood I'm in. No way you'd be able to guess that. And if you ordered medium-rare (which is probably a decent guess for how MOST people like steak)...well, I wouldn't be eating any of it. Next time, just tell the waiter to come back in a minute.

Who orders for a woman? What is this 1950's Ohio? Still, because she was dissing meat and called you a, "cow murderer," you should have said, I was going to let you live.
