It's not what you think

By Shopper - 23/05/2012 22:50 - United States

Today, I was shopping with a friend. We snuck into the same fitting room so we could give our opinions on each other's clothes. The suspicious saleswoman knocked on the door and asked how many people were in our room. I quickly answered, "It's OK. She's just watching." FML

I can't help but wonder why she cares that there's more than one person. Do two people shoplift better than one?

That awkward moment when the saleswoman asks, "can I watch too?".

I think that totally diverted her suspicion..

You will never get a thumbs up as a 'first' XD

Because they don't want people having sex in the changing rooms. They don't like cleaning up

They care for a few reasons, theft, sex, the amount of time you spend in there if the store is busy.

OR! Girls can go in alone and make their own decisions on clothes and not care so much about what everyone else thinks about how they look.

In Denmark it would be considered rude for her to ask you about that.

Apart from what 45 said, wouldn't it be slightly uncomfortable to change in front your friend? I need my personal space and privacy.

I went in one of the changing rooms together with my mom and they still didn't want me in there with her so I really hope it isn't because of 30's reasoning...

I'm a store manager of a clothing store. We care because two people make it easier for shoplifting. The store probably has a policy allowing only one person per room

Agree 45. Appearance is generally going to attract ass holes. Just get clothing you like and go on. :P

Why couldn't u just change, come out, get each others opinion then change into the next outfit?

43-so boring and realistic, be imaginative

Why exactly is 45 being down voted so much? It's a valid point and a good suggestion.

They don't want people doing it in there

Is it weird that I do that all the time with my friends?

102 - If your profile is correct and you are, indeed, a 14 year old boy... Then yes. Yes it is.

Surprisingly, it is easier. One can go in the store, fill a cheap backpack with items, and put it back, then leave. They then tell a friend to buy, "the fourth backpack in on the bottom shelf." The friend then buys the filled backpack, and takes it home. Believe it or not, neither of these people shoplifted, only together was a crime committed. One put stuff in, but didn't take it, and the other has option to say, "oh, I didn't know that was there" if they get caught.

I go into fitting rooms with my sister all the time and never get harassed. How else are you supposed to zip up a dress?

57, it's really not. They're both girls. Plus if they've ever had a PE class together, they've seen each other change. I thought that would be awkward, too, but it's really not.

Every one of the negative thumbs on my comment was by a woman.

103- it's Justin Bieber

Yeah that would work if the sales associate didn't check to see if it was empty.

Damn! That must be humiliating...FYL :/

She should write an FML about it.

Your attempt at a joke sucked #91

should've asked her if she wanted to join

I like your way of thinking... :)

I don't see this as an FML. Lots of friends go into the fitting room together cuz they're GIRLS. And the saleswoman doesn't know if they were related- cousins or sisters. I know my sister comes in the fitting room with me all the time to check if I need a new size she will get it while I try more on and opinionate on things even though it is my choice in the end, you always need to hear that opinion.

Sounds kinky .

Anything sounds kinky these days.

Kid: Mommy, I have to go potty. Mom: That's kinky.

I'd like to watch ;)

"Did I say hot? I meant not!"

Watch? Why not join? Now that I gave you some advice, I gotta go and be batman for a while.

Haha I'd watch too :p

Should have gave her a little show and made some inappropriate noises! Would have made for a good laugh.

Couldn't you walk out after changing and then get your friend's opinion?

Where's the fun in that?

alshygirl 14

But then everyone else sees too

jaredofmo 22

The fun? Pretend it's a fashion show.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Publicly, it is inappropriate, but when it is economically convenient, a school can have 50 people change in a locker room?

girls go in the same fitting room for many reasons. whether its because they're trying on something they don't want everyone to see, but still want their friends opinions, like bras or lingerie. it could just be that they don't want everyone to see them in something, in case it looks bad on them. some clothing stores have the fitting rooms in the middle of the store, and everyone in the store can see you. if you're trying on something different, it's less embarrassing to stay in the fitting room. girls generally don't care about seeing each other change. so going in there with someone isn't a big deal. it's very common here.

Well as long as she's just watching, then by all means its fine go about your

Wow, people must not be understanding the sarcasm behind what I said with all these thumbs down... Assholes o.O

Or maybe it's just because you fail. Ever hear that sarcasm doesn't transfer well over text?

War of the hair. Pink vs red. Who's going to dye first.

My hair is actually purple >:|

They both look pink to me

It's just how my picture turned out, IRL it is a brilliant shade of purple xD

And NO ONE uses sarcasm in FML?....hmm, okay! I think the only thing failing here is that your "purple hair" is definitely pink.

Uh oh. Now I'm worried because your hair actually does look purple to me.

101, that was a sad comeback. Please try again!

Whenever I clothes shop with friends, we usually share the same fitting room. It's never been a big deal. The saleslady should be uses to people doing that.

When I worked retail we usually didn't care when two females went in together.. We would try to keep guys and opposite couples going in together though, especially after we had to clean up after the gay couple. : /

#61, were they sailors? I've heard that seamen stains are the hardest to get off.

#61 that's sexist.
