Today, I discovered that my father is getting married. Overjoyed and confused because I didn't know he was dating, I called him up to congratulate him, and ask who she was. Apparently, his soon to be fiancée is my mother-in-law. My wife is not happy. FML

Your wife needs to get over it. If two people meet and click, who is she to stand in the way? Their happiness far outweighs any awkwardness.

It's like OP's dad didn't even consider how OP and his wife would feel about this. Sure, the dad is happy, but at the expense of OP and his wife's feelings. What kind of person marries their child's parent in law anyway? That's messed up, and even if they do make you happy you don't need to legally marry them. Because I dunno but that could be incest or cause issues.

He probably did consider how they would feel about it. Which is why they didn't know about it until now, but when you truly love someone you can't just make it go away...

You do realize incest is illegal because the chances of the couple producing kids with deformities is very high, right? That isn't the case here, so I see no reason why it should be illegal.
