Alas, poor Mickey

Today, I'm going to a cocktail event, except my dress is wrinkled and can't be ironed, so I got my steam cleaner from storage. I saw what looked like mold inside the water container. Turns out a mouse had got into it, drowned and started to decompose. My apartment now smells like death and my dress is still wrinkled. FML

My biggest question is: WHY would you leave sitting water in a stored, electrical item? After use, and ESPECIALLY before storage, you empty and dry any kind of contents!

Tip for getting (at least the worst) wrinkles out when you don't have a steamer - Use the shower. Hang your items on the rod, out of direct spray, and crank up the hot water. Let your shower get nice and steamy for a couple minutes. Then you can try to shake out/flatten out the wrinkles.

At least you'll have a fun story for the party. Usually small talk is so excruciating! Maybe you'll get drunk enough to go home with some dude and avoid your stinky apartment.

At least you noticed the mouse before you steamed the dress.
