Today, it's day two of my two-month summer job on a Mediterranean cruise ship. I'm incredibly seasick, and the ship is still docked. FML

Today, I boarded my very first cruise, in order to relax and unwind for week-long vacation. However, when I got on the ship, I found out that I get seasick REALLY easily. FML
Today, I returned from a 5-day cruise for my senior spring break, filled with gorgeous sorority girls from all over the country. I was seasick the whole time. FML
Today, I found out that my most amazing spring break ever, will be spent stuck on a ship with my ex. It's been almost two years, and he still isn't over me. Yay. This cruise shall be fun. FML
Today, I overcame my debilitating seasickness long enough to have a shower and take a breath of fresh air on the cruise ship balcony. Then as a reward, a passing seagull shat on my head. FML
Today, I was dumped by my boyfriend. We're currently sharing a room on a cruise ship. FML
Today, while working security at a welfare office, I had to listen as a claimant gushed about her upcoming Caribbean cruise. I work two jobs and haven't had a vacation since 2006. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I went on a 1 day cruise to the Bahamas. It happened to be on the same day of the worst sailing conditions. We spent 6 hours throwing up together. Him into the sink, and me into the toilet. We spent $200 to see the inside of our cabin's bathroom. FML
Today, I'm on spring break on a tropical island, visiting family I hadn't seen in years. They invited me out to eat, and won't take no for an answer. All of this would be wonderful, if it weren't for the fact that I've been vomiting to the point of expelling bile and dry heaving for the last two days. FML
Today, I work on a cruise ship, and I just learned that we have a morgue on board. How did I learn that? It's right next to the crew laundry room, and I opened the wrong door. It was occupied. FML
Today, I arrived for the two-week scuba diving vacation I spent months saving, planning, and looking forward to. Today, I also developed an ear infection and can't scuba dive for 2 weeks. FML

why would you get a job on a cruise ship if you get sea sick? unless you didn't know. you could always call in (sea) sick and slip off the boat...

Can't you get over sea sickness if you spend enough time on a boat? Correct me if I'm wrong I've heard that you can get over it but have never known for sure

Eat afew green apples while youre out there. Sounds crazy but it actually does work. Cant remember what exactly it is thats in them. But it definately does help for calming sea sickness.

Yea seasixkness (if I remember right) is caused by being unable to adjust your balance to the constant motion, so eventually by spending time in a boat you should be able to adjust and feel better

Either way, I'm pretty positive they wouldn't give people a refund every time someone got sea sick. They do hand out complimentary nausea pills though!

Someone told them about the amount of ass you can get working cruise ships. It's ridiculous, you'd be surprised how many single's take trips and are just looking to get laid. However in OP's situation that might not be the best idea if you're already sick. Keep looking at the horizon.

Maybe OP has never been to the Mediterranean and wanted to discover that beautiful part of the world. And as people said before OP may not have known about being seasick-prone.

If it makes you feel any better, seasickness does go away as you get used to being on ship. In the meantime, keep some sickbags on you, and if you have no sickbags, head for the linoleum. It's easier to clean it up than if you puke on carpet.
