Today, I spent 3 hours making a birthday card for my boyfriend, delicately cutting each letter out of printed coloured paper. He used it as a coffee coaster. FML

When someone does that kind of shit with stuff I make, I stop caring about getting them anything special. Next time just grab a card and sign it, since he doesn't seem to care. By the way, don't print out colored paper just to cut out. Go out and buy construction paper, it's cheaper.

What a jerk. Even if he's not into the sentimentality of cards or whatever, he should at least show some appreciation for you and your effort.

134- ok I know I'm about a year late for this but really?? Some people actually enjoy personalized home-made presents, even if it's just a card. It's the thought that counts. And where on the fml does it say he doesn't have a job?????

This is just a fail. All I can say is that you're neglected. Get someone new who appreciates cards, or stop the cards altogether.

What guy really appreciates cards? No, scratch that, who really appreciates cards at all? It's cool to get them with a gift but you can't do anything with them after that. The fact that OP's boyfriend used it as a coster just means that he kept it, that's more than I'd do and I'm a girl.

1) no one seems to get that it's his birthday and all she gave him is a CARD!! i'm suprised he didn't dump you on the spot. 2) are you really that broke that you made a "special card"? he can't see how much time you spend on it, if i were the one who got your card, i probably would've thought you spend 5 minuts on it because you forgot my birthday. 3) get a JOB! and give him a exual present

im sorry this sucks. i'm an artist and having someone not appreciate your work is horrible. side note: why would you take the time and money to print out colored paper? you can buy it for like a dollar.
