Today, while trying to sleep, I kept hearing this groan/scream for help for about an hour. I decided to call 911 to send someone to investigate. Police came, I received a $100 parking fine and another citation for improper use of 911. The noise? Just a dog howling. FML

YDI for being a mindless sheep and calling the cops instead of getting off your duff and checking it out yourself. Lesson learned: The police are NOT your friends and will screw you at every opportunity

Ok, YDI for waiting an hr before trying to help the 'person' , DYI for not checking it out before calling the police. But wtf with the parking fine? where the eff did you park? the neighbor lawn? ON THE DOG? (would explain the dog groaning)

People who do this irritate me. Honest to god, life isn't so scary. Especially if you live in even a somewhat ok neighborhood. Look out your window or do a little detective work first before calling the police about someone else's business. Even if the 'howling' managed to upset your entire night, calling the cops is just overkill to this kind of situation.
