Today, while spray painting a rocking horse for my kids I left the can outside in the sun. When I picked it up it was hot to the touch and I dropped it. It exploded on impact and now I am more blue than the rocking horse. FML

Today, I found out the hard way that you shouldn't try to open a can of paint with a screwdriver. The lid flew off, and my kitchen floor now looks like an abstract art painting, which I could probably call, "Various blue splodges on wood canvas." FML

Today, I went to buy some spray paint for a project. I've never used a spray can before, so I decided to try it on paper provided. Unfortunately I didn't hold the can the right way and ended up with black, permanent, paint all over my face in the middle of a store. FML

Today, while painting a wall, I handed a bucket of paint up to my friend who was standing on the top rung of a ladder. She said she felt dizzy, and came crashing down on me, along with the paint on my head. FML

Today, I was painting the garage door. After 3 hours, I finally finished the job. As I was walking back inside, accidentally pressed the button that opens and closes the garage door. Not only did the paint job get messed up as it went up, the paint also dripped onto my parents brand new car. FML

Today, I tried to throw a basketball in my backyard basketball hoop. It bounced off the board, hit me on the head, then hit a spray can, activating it and spraying black paint all over my Golden Retriever, to finally land in my trash can. FML

Today, my husband has been painting our house all weekend and plans to finish the job after work today. I decided to surprise him by completing the job myself. Painting the last window frame, I dropped the open tin of white paint, right onto our car roof. FML

Today, I tried to open my water bottle, which is like trying to open a pickle jar, and after several seconds, it exploded all over my desk and clothes. Then, when I was going to get paper towels and a change of clothes, I slipped on the puddle and hit my head on my desk as I came crashing down. FML

Today, as a respected artist, I was running a workshop with a bunch of rowdy college kids. I was in the middle of demonstrating a painting technique when I accidentally washed my paintbrush in my coffee instead of my paint water. They waited until I then drank from it to burst out in hysterics. FML

I very much doubt this actually happened. You can introduce a hell of a lot of heat to a can like that before it explodes, otherwise they'd be dangerous to sell. Unless you live in the desert and left the can there for a couple of hours at midday, I'm not convinced.

No disrespect, but it's just common sense NOT to leave a can of spray paint out in the sun. But, now you know. You WILL laugh about this someday. Maybe after all the blue has worn off. And don't worry, everyone does something dumb at least once in they're life. Live and learn, at least you care about your kids enough to do something for them. Have a nice day. I'm sorry I laughed and may have possibly hurt your feelings.

Surely theres nothing wrong with having a little bit of magic in your life as a kid. Im pretty sure that having a blue rocking horse isnt gonna make the kid think that real horses are blue or feel cheated because their parents didn't give them a scientifically correct toy. I jsut dont understand how a toy painted a certain colour can give kids the wrong ideas, whats wrong with kids being kids for a while?
