Today, my son's homework was to write a story about what he wants to be when he grows up. He wrote that he plans on being unemployed and living at home until we throw him out, then he'll live under a bridge. He's only 12, but already planning for a future as an unemployed bum. FML

Someone's read about trolls a bit too much

Ambitious much? Don't worry, 12-years olds think they're simply amazing, and he probably thought it was hilarious.

He probably just wasn't taking it seriously. I've done that kind of stuff alot for school essays.

Ya, that is probably what he was doing because I honestly doubt he would be planning to live under a bridge and all that. And if that wasn't the case I'm worried.

Gotta love kids. :) Just hope he wasn't being serious, OP. If so, you're screwed.

hey now..some bums can make $20k a year :)

It isn't so bad. I'm 8 years ahead OP's son and my bridge is looking nice ;)

You must be wonderful parents..

I hate how teachers seriously expect kids to know what they want to do when they're older...

PPPFFTTT RITE?!?! Who needs ambition?

It's not about ambition. How many freaking times do we change our minds before we get it figured out? At 14 I was planning to be a top chef. At 18, an equine vet. At 19 (and since and it's what I actually am going to do) a horse breeding manager. No one knows what they'll be when they're 12. You'll almost always change your mind.

He should make sure to move to Washington state if he wants to be homeless. studies have proven that Seattle is the friendliest city for hobos! seriously!
