Today, my mum yelled at me for wanting to apply to university courses that she doesn't approve of. I'm applying for Biomedical Sciences and Microbiology, she's an unemployed Jehovah's Witness. FML

And when she is asked what she does in her adult life, she will respond saying, "I walk around to people's houses and annoy people."

Start knocking on doors and see what other people think of your class choices.

She is worried you will learn about evolution

Tell her and her friends to stop coming to my door everyday!

JW's are annoying as hell. Do something that'll make you happy, not something that annoys the **** out of millions.

I'm just saying this to help he imbalance of opinions on this post, but since when did someone ringing your doorbell once in a while become such an unspeakable thing? Things like this make me worry about the world I live in. Who carries so much hate over a knock or two on your door? Or even better, who cares at all, if you aren't interested, be tolerant like you should be and probably are of all other religions in the world.

I care about you guys knocking on my door #125. They don't knock only once or twice. I had my car in the driveway and they kept knocking for 20 minutes!! It is terribly annoying. That is why people carry such hate

Cursed be that cult! They give christians a bad name.

Damnit, I want to say something about that, but I don't want to start a religious debate. *prays* FML God, what should I do?

When you rearrange the letter of your comment you get "BWOK THE MONSTER". Coincidence?

She needs to read the Bible more and learn about anger.

Based on JW structure, OP is probably going to be ostracized. (Unless you're listening to what they believe and being somewhat converted, JW are only allowed to associate with other Witnesses) Something tells me this is going to be a lot worse in the future. But I give OP props for doing what he thinks is best for him!

If that were the case we wouldn't talk to family members that aren't JW's! Which we do!

news flash. my mother and father don't talk to me because I am not a jw. they are missing out on a really cute granddaughter. You obviously have not been exposed to the dark and bitter aspects of choosing to belief in JW instruction. And no, I do not miss it one bit. I began to live when I got out.

Unless you were disfellowshiped they should be able to talk to you. We don't say don't talk to your family, that would be plain stupid.

She's gotta be one in a million, because Jehovah's witnesses don't tell their kids "no you can't go to uni". I'm a Jehovah's witness and I'm going to uni. And my best friends aren't Jehovah's witnesses, we are allowed to socialise with others. I'm not trying to be rude or critical if what you've said because like every religion we have extremists who take things too far and I think that's the problem with this mother

We only can't associate with them if they've been disfellowshipped. We still talk to the people who just say "this isn't for me, I don't want this" and we avoid any religious conversation for them

My father was disfellowshipped and his family are not "allowed" to speak to him. My grandfather was supposedly one of the 144,000 going into heaven. They speak to me because I don't go against what they believe and allow them to think what they want.(They still think there's hope for me to convent, that's why they are permitted to associate with me) There's a strong hold in staying a JW because many would feel lost without their family members close to them.

Oh, and all my JW cousins go to college but study things that keep within their faith. (:

sourgirl101 28

Close. They no longer believe that 1935 date. And 144,000 will go to "heaven" and rule with christ. The others will live on a new earth (paradise on earth, the way it was always meant to be). I hope I'm correct with this information. I'm going by what my father told me after he left it (: Someone once told him "If your heart's not in it, then get your ass out of it" so he left that religion! Lol

^This was for Homealone. I don't know why it showed up here.

Omg that means there's more than one of them!
