Dude, I use to walk home from a 8 minute drive to my Middle School each day. On average, it took 50 minutes to get there, and no I'm not a slow walker, I'm way faster than most. So do the math from there.

Don't worry, they were gonna come back..and if not are you to dumb to find your way home by yourself? Bus, taxi, etc.?

Buses aren't in every town, everywhere. And taxis are expensive - who's to say they had the money for that. If I were stranded 45 minutes away from my home, I would not have the option of a bus in my area. a 45 minute drive is a long, long ass walk.
