It's her boyfriend. Wouldnt anyone else wonder what about themselves made their partner choose to be with them instead of someone else? Maybe OP needed a confidence boost, so what? Is that wrong?

I live in Texas, and I can garuntee I can find people in Michigan that say that. After they stop making fun of the way I talk...:,( They are the ones with the weird Yankee accent.
