Today, my boyfriend proposed to me in front of an entire street of people. We've only been dating for a week. One of the women in the crowd then called me heartless and threw a hamburger at me when I turned him down. FML

While I do think the proposal did come too early, my fiance and I knew we were going to get married on our second date. We talked a bit before going on our first date, but we knew on our second date that we were meant to be. Two weeks later he gave me a promise ring, a little over a month after that we got engaged. We've been together a little over 2 1/2 years and still have a little over a year to go before the wedding. It is possible to fall in love that fast, but it has to be a mutual thing. It sounds like OP doesn't feel the same way yet.
