Today, my aunt gave my cat aspirin because when she touched his nose he had a 'fever'. I came home to a dead cat. FML

Today, I saved a kitten from the streets, cleaned her up and asked the vet what I should do with her because she was the sweetest thing and my cat has a highly contagious illness. The vet had to put her down. FML

Today, I took my cat to the vet. He said he felt a strange lump that could be serious. I got really upset and picked her up, crying. The vet then told me I had to put her down. Absolutely devastated by having to euthanize my cat, I passed out. He meant I had to put her back on the table. FML

Today, I took my wife's cat to the vet for her yearly check up. I'm finishing the day at the hospital with multiple bite wounds and a deep gash in my leg. My wife chose to comfort her cat instead. FML

Today, my ill-tempered cat tried to slap me in the face. She ended up sticking one of her claws as far up my nostril as it would go, and got stuck. Not only did I kinda get to experience what it feels like to be stabbed, I also got a horrible nosebleed. FML

Today, I went to visit my grandmother. My grandfather recently died, so I had gotten her a cat for comfort. Turns out in her sadness, she had forgotten about the cat. I found its remains being eaten by ants and birds. FML

Today, my boyfriend and I tried to give his cat medicine. Unfortunately, it reacted in a way it never had before: clawed his arms to bits, bit him so hard a tooth fell out, peed everywhere, including on me, and pooped on the carpet. FML

Wow, sucks for you :( really sorry to hear. Aunt's an idiot for giving medication to a cat like that. Aspirin is incredibly toxic to cats, but safe for dogs, just to add to what everyone is saying.

Wow so many people saying you can'y give aspirin to cat! You absolutely CAN give cats aspirin, it's paracetamol that you can't! My vet has told me to give one of my cats aspirin in the past. Aspirin should only be given in tiny doses (about 1/8 of what a child would take I think) and only under the guidance of a vet. People should never medicate their pets without guidance from a vet unless it's over the counter stuff for that specific animal (Like flea or worming treatment) Aspirin only poisons cats because people give them WAY too much and cats break it down VERY slowly.
