Today, I walked to school in - 5°C degree weather, snow up to ankles, for an exam. The school had closed and warned all the parents, but mine didn't tell me, because it was "funnier". FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, school was out because of snow. My dad walked in my room and shouted "Why are you home?!" I told him why, and he replied, "Then get out the damn house and play in the snow." He tossed me out in nothing but my shorts. FML
Today, I'm a superintendent at a school, and it snowed today after school. The snow ended up freezing on the road, so I called school off for tomorrow. I sent calls home, cancelled all school events, and then realized that it's Friday. FML
Today, my dad woke me up at 6 told me to take a shower and drove me to school only to say "just kidding, happy snowday!" FML
Today, I was walking home from school and my stupid brother who comes earlier then me locked the storm door. I ended up trying every other door for 3 hours in below freezing temperature. I was numb everywhere. I rang the bell and my brother opened it. He was home the whole time. FML
Today, I got up and walked to college for my only class which started at 9 a.m. after a night of restless sleep. Our exam is two weeks away, so I thought it would be better to attend. Apparently, my teacher thought differently. FML
Today, we had our second snow day in a row, something that never happens. So while the rest of school got to sleep late, I had to wake up early, get dressed, and go to my bus stop because my mom didn't believe me. FML
Today, I walked in the snow and saw some kid slip. I laughed and felt good about myself. Then I fell. FML
Today, a snow storm rolled into my small town, leaving my car stuck under 3 feet of snow. I called my boss to tell her I couldn't drive to work. Her reply? "Walk." FML
Today, I got up at five, got dressed, and walked halfway to work in the snow. I then realized that it's Sunday. I also forgot my keys. FML
Today, I woke up to a quite frigid room, which wasn't out of the ordinary since my building's heat is broken. But I realized that the extra cold I was feeling was due to the snow piled up on my bed. It had snowed 20 inches last night. My mom had apparently opened my window. FML

All the way up to your ankles? GASP! Maybe if you walked to school on your hands that would be impressive, but otherwise, you should omit that detail.

For people commenting on how it's ridiculous that this would cancel school: it's not about where the school is, it's about how prepared it is. In certain warmer areas, they're not prepared for this level of cold, so pipes freeze and take plumbing offline, or insulation fails and the school gets too cold. Then school has to be canceled; not because it is cold, but because the building is unusable. My sister is a teacher in rural Louisiana, and they had school canceled for two inches of snow, because the backwoods roads froze immediately and there was no plan to salt or plow them, so the school had no way to reach them with buses and had to call in the first snow day in decades. Again, it's not certain locations being "wussy," it's all about preparedness.

Hey in the defence of the OP, in Ireland we are used to a very mild, (but very wet) climate. I've heard on the radio that this is our coldest winter since records began. So in Canada, where you grew up with that weather it's normal, but for us it's not. It's rare when we get snow, let alone the amount we have had in the past month. No one I know has even seen this much snow in Ireland, and as a nation we are not equipped for this weather, roads, schools and airports have been shut. So this is new for us....
