Today, I started my new job. Less than one hour into the day, my boss told me that the reason he hired me was that I was the least attractive of everyone he interviewed, so I'd be less likely to cause a distraction. FML

Today, at work, a table of girls complained to the manager about me. The complaint? "He's not hot enough to work here. We want a sexy server." The manager agreed with them and sent me home. I might lose my job because of a table of shallow women. FML

Wow... what do you do for a living? I've always worried that I was denied previous jobs in retail, customer service, etc because I wasn't good looking enough... and it does seem that even the jobs I have gotten hired for had a lot of good looking people that got treated better by management.... so I just wondered where you work that being "less attractive" was a plus... (I was loathe to say you were ugly since I have never seen you and wouldn't be crass enough to think that the manager was right just because he said such a hurtful thing to you...)
