Now this is the kind of boss I would NOT want to work for. Just do your best and hopefully things will turn in your favor. But burnish your resume just in case (and be very hesitant about using your current boss as a reference).
Time to start looking for a new job, while still giving 100% at your current one. Best case: you find a better job and as soon as you quit to take it, your then ex-boss realizes that he should have stuck with his drunk decision.
Start hunting for a new job and quit before they have a chance to get rid of you. I'm so sorry this is happening to you.
I think he should be fired himself, if only for being an irresponsible tool.
